OK’s Disclaimer Gallery comrade Jin is in town from Hawaii and updates us on the situation in Maui, their community care work, and the Be Easy Stay Safe zine made for and by sex workers. Please follow and support Jin’s work on their Instagram. Content warning: we discuss experiences of transphobic and racist discrimination, as well as harassment and assault at work. We also discuss fun stuff like art and care and love!!!

OK Fox and Eric Kostiuk Willams return with a recap of festival season. We have criticisms and praises for Flamecon in NYC, Queer Trans Zine Fest in Providence, and Small Press Expo in Bethesda. We also discuss All Dolled Up, an event Eric did the poster for and OK attended in an act of rebellion against attempts to ban trans women from strip clubs. As trauma and fractures rise we retreat into the comforts of the erotic arts and call for greater protections and honors for sexy pictures and sex work.

Know us by our sacred form; as Clotho, Lachesis, Atropos; yuanshi tianzun, lingbao tianzun, daode tianzun; final fantasy 10, final fantasy 10-2, final fantasy 10-3 (on ao3, lulu is in a reeducation camp, yuna is given more guns)— and yes, at times in the form of OK, Lucia, and Sarah on Art and Labor: Audio Issues Edition! This one’s been marinating a bit, we got a little bit of atomization on the 1s and 2s, the definitive take on those NPC livestreams, breaking your chains or hamster wheel or death drive or facebook marketplace addiction, some laughter some tears some movie recs, all the stuff to round out your summer before the dreaded Normal Gallery Hours Resuming season (aka, End of Residency Season)

One of us saw Barbenheimer and one of us didn’t. Wouldn’t you know it, that doesn’t stop the take machine from churning here on the new and improved ART AND LABOR 2. That’s right! We have emerged from our chrysalis to influence hearts and minds on a plane of evolution that was higher than before. We have the same hosts, same wandering conversation, and same opening song, but at heart, we have become the sequel to ourselves. Join us as we discuss the international responses to our darling summer blockbusters, with a little historical reference sprinkled in for nutritional value.

Remember back in the day when we used to wax philosophical about the meaning and role of art? Oh you don’t, because this is the first episode you’ve ever listened to? Well buckle up, cuz Lucia printed a new edition of their screed, and they’re here to inculcate the youth. OK leads the OG duo through some thoughtful tangents that would make Alan Watts swoon as they flip through copies of “Visionary Statement 1.5” lovingly riso printed by Hannah Brookman of Looky Here fame. If you listened to this whole episode and it made you want to see some art irl, Lucia’s show SOULCANO is on view at Giovanni’s Room LA until July 29th. If this episode made you want to read the dang zine, then contact @Lucia_Love on IG to get your copy before they’re all confiscated and burned as contraband.

LUCIA IS BACK!!! We talk about navigating the art world during a recession. Is the way forward through Kung Fu?? Notice that the stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind.

Hello!! Welcome back to the fold, sweet lambs, I missed you terribly so…what’s your year been like, kids? Today’s Art and Labor is for the fans, and also the haters, who have neglected to call me even once while I was gone…….this week we’re cutting it up (hard) on how Scientific Management (Taylor’s Version) mysteriously tends to bend society towards child labor, a Rest In Piss Vice send up that ends up being our apologies for going to Death By Audio shows, and a few more clues as to what our jobs actually are for the oldheads developing their A&L iceberg videos. Send me cannolis, I’m dying up here, my people yearn for freedom, we will greet you as liberators!!
Strap on your leather necklaces, OK Fox and Eric Kostiuk Willams are back. Each week we compare and contrast episodes of Sex and the City and Gossip Girl. Join our journey through New York history, find love, AND labels. The good show has a femcels into video art porono, the bad show is a bunch of HR training modules with early aughts pop rock licenses.
Hey podcastsiders, welcome to our brand new show! Each week we will compare and contrast episodes of Sex and the City and Gossip Girl. Join our journey through New York history, find love, AND labels. Don’t worry! Art and Labor isn’t going away, just on hiatus until we’re all well rested enough for new episodes about the cruel brutalities of our industries and governments. In the meantime, please enjoy cutting cultural analysis from two of your favorite city-loving fslurs, OK Fox and Eric Kostiuk Willams. You don’t have to watch the shows, plot is very secondary to our discussion, xoxo
To hear our take on Andrew Callaghan and This Places Rules please support us on Patreon. 2022 was hard on your Art and Labor crew- so we wanted to start the new year with the most “le fantastique” thing we could think of, a world of endless possibilities, a place where magic could exist, a place where you can be driven insane with the contradiction of portraying the desire to never age as monstrous while yourself employing a mo cap technique that will absolutely result in older actresses no longer being able to get work as older characters, just their younger selves, or not, who cares, what am I even talking about.
A&L is, historically, staunchly pro-spectacle, so indulge us a little with a fated Avatar waterside chats- What the hell is this Cameron guy’s deal, how does a movie so bad still get Sarah to easily shell out $30 multiple times? How come OK never saw the first one??? Why is Kate Winslet here?? Do you guys think the butterfly fairy wing jellyfish are just like a merchandising thing? If we start actually doing episodes consistently again would yall send us to Disneyland to finally SEE?
